Via The Hill:
Obama campaign senior adviser Robert Gibbs said Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s recent experience in the primaries will give him an edge going into the first presidential debate, now 10 days away.
“Having been through this much more recently than President Obama, I think he starts with an advantage,” Gibbs said on Fox News Sunday. Gibbs’s comments came in an appearance that dealt largely with foreign policy. When asked about changing versions of the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya, Gibbs said administration officials released the best information they had at the time.
“Nobody wants to get to the bottom of this more than we do,” Gibbs said.
Gibbs did take shots at the Republican ticket, saying the vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan’s “budget would cut diplomatic security.”
