Readers using Internet Explorer 8/9 have been getting errors in the comments section on sites that use Disqus. Here’s how to fix the issue.

Disqus 2012 officially supports Internet Explorer versions 8 and 9. If Disqus is loading inconsistently or not at all for you in these browsers, there are several factors that may cause this:

Compatibility View

When Internet Explorer’s Compatibility View is enabled, you may see the following message in place of the normal Disqus commenting area:

This is because Internet Explorer is loading the page using an older, “compatible” version of Internet Explorer’s rendering engine.
