(KABUL) — As many as 16 Afghan National Army soldiers were killed, four injured and five more went missing when the Taliban attacked their checkposts in Washer district in Helmand province and other areas last night, an official said Monday.
The Taliban attacked an ANA checkpost in Guzaran area in Washer district last night kiiling 10 ANA soldiers, the Helmand governor’s spokesman Muhammad Daud Ahmadi told AIP.
He said five ANA troops had gone missing after the attack, adding they could have gone with the Taliban.
A separate defence ministry press release said six armed opponents were killed when their explosives-laden vehicle went off prematurely in Musakala district.
