From Columbus Dispatch:

An administrative hearing officer today recommended that Secretary of State Jon Husted fire a pair of Democrats on the Montgomery County Board of Elections for defying his early voting directive.
More than a week ago, Husted suspended Dennis Lieberman and Thomas Ritchie Sr. after the two voted for a motion to hold in-person early voting hours on weekends, defying a directive from Husted that limited early voting to weekdays only.
The vote on the motion tied 2-2 vote after the board’s Republican members voted against it. Husted ordered the board back into session to rescind the motion, but the Democrats refused to pull it back. Husted then suspended Lieberman and Ritchie and began the process of firing them.
Jon Allison, an attorney and former chief of staff for Republican Gov. Bob Taft, oversaw an administrative hearing a week ago in which the Democrats argued that Husted’s order did not specifically mention weekend hours, so it was open to interpretation. During the hearing, Lieberman characterized Husted’s letter ordering him to rescind his motion as: “Be the puppet I want you to be.”
