Indore: A day after Central government blocked websites to prevent spread of hate material meant to whip up communal passion, Indore Shahar Qazi Ishrat Ali has appealed to youth of Muslim community to deactivate their Facebook accounts, terming them ‘anti-Islamic’ as inflammatory content on the site leads to hatred in society.
“We have heard that China has taken some harsh measures against this website which does not have any scanning system and the same should also happen in India. We (community members) had requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to ban Facebook after anti-Islamic content was circulated on it too frequently, ” said Ishrat Ali, while talking to DNA.
“In the past, several communal flare ups have been witnessed after objectionable content was uploaded on Facebook in several parts of the state and cases were also registered at various police stations ,” he added.
