Senior Obama adviser David Axelrod on Thursday dubbed Mitt Romney’s vice presidential pick an “ideologue” who “grew up in the think tanks of Washington” — and also said he supports his party’s number two in the wake of Vice President Joe Biden’s controversial “chains” comment.
Axelrod — who told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he thinks Paul Ryan is “an affable guy, he’s a genial guy, he’s a good person” — said Romney’s selection has finally clarified the positions of the Republican ticket and made the election a stark contrast for voters in November. […]
“He wasn’t making a racial comment, he was making a comment about the impact about rolling back all of White Street reforms on consumers, essentially rolling back what we’ve done and putting the burden back on consumers,” Axelrod said.
