(Times of Israel) — Hezbollah and Iran will fight alongside President Bashar Assad if NATO or any other international coalition attacks Syria, AFP quoted a pro-Damascus Palestinian leader saying on Tuesday.
Ahmad Jibril, the veteran leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command terror group, said in an interview with Beirut-based Mayadeen television that he had met recently with Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Assad.
“We discussed with our brothers [in the Syrian regime], with Nasrallah, and our brothers in Iran” that, should NATO launch a campaign against Assad, “we will take to the streets and fight on behalf of all those with honor and our Syrian brothers.”
Nasrallah, said Jibril, “said he would join this battle, in the event of a foreign attack.”
The Iranian regime, he claimed, told him it would not allow a strike on Syria.
