KABUL — The Afghan Interior Minister has claimed killing 33 Taliban insurgents in past 24 hours in various military operations. As per the details, the operations were jointly carried out by the Afghan forces and the NATO-led coalition troops.
In a statement, the ministry said yesterday, “Afghan police, army and coalition forces launched 10 joint cleanup operations in Kabul, Laghman, Parwan, Helmand, Uruzgan and Farah provinces, killing 33 armed Taliban insurgents over the past 24 hours.”
The respective operations, conducted by the joint forces, also culminated in injuring six insurgents while capturing nine other suspects.
In another development, four other militants were killed as an anti-tank mine went off prematurely in Jani Khil district of Pakitka province, revealed the ministry of interior’s statement.
