Oddly, the youth in Iran don’t feel the same way hence the lowest mosque attendance in the Middle East (around 10%) if not the entire Muslim world.
TEHRAN (FNA) — Tehran’s provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani stressed that enemies are deeply fearful of the Islamic identity of Iran, and described Islam as a source of power and glory for the country.
“It was Islam that gave Iran national glory, authority and helped the country achieve independence,” Ayatollah Emami Kashani said, addressing a large congregation of worshippers on Tehran University Campus here on Friday.
He stated that although Iran has no atomic weapons, they are afraid of Iran and this is because of power of Islam in Iran.
As regards western sanctions against Iran, Ayatollah Emami Kashani said they have created opportunities for the country and made the Iranians stronger than before
“They (westerners) thought that these sanctions would scare the Iranian nation, but in practice they infuriated the Iranian nation to resist them and not retreat,” he said.
The remarks by Ayatollah Emami Kashani came days after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stated that the enemies of Iran are fearing the Islamic identity of the country rather than its nuclear capabilities.
“What the enemies of Iran fear, and must fear, is not a nuclear Iran but the Islamic Iran,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated, addressing a large crowd of people at Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum South of Tehran on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the demise of the Founder of the Islamic Republic on Sunday.
