I guess there’s a first for everything.
Via Politico:
It’s usually Republicans accusing Democrats of wanting to turn the United States into Europe.
Not on Monday, when former President Clinton blasted the austerity policies of the Republican party and nominee Mitt Romney — accusing them of pursuing “crazy” economics.
“The Republican Congress and their nominee for President, Gov. Romney, have adopted Europe’s economic policies,” Clinton said at a fundraiser with President Obama at the home of a New York City hedge fund manager.
“Their economic policy is austerity and unemployment now, and then a long term budget that would explode the debt when the economy recovers so the interest rates would be so high, nobody would be able to do anything,” Clinton said.
“So the politics is wrong on the Republican side, the economics are crazy,” Clinton said.
