House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, crossed a line, according to the White House, when he reportedly used “colorful language” to describe one of President Obama’s recent policy pushes.
“Reportedly, yesterday morning, the Speaker of the House told his Republican colleagues that this is just a phony issue,” Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters today while discussing the student loan interest rate issue. “I understand that the Speaker of the House may have actually used even more colorful words to describe this issue, which is unfortunate.”
Earnest was referring to a report about a closed-door Republican meeting. “Let’s call bulls— bulls—,” Boehner said, according to Politico. “This election is about jobs, jobs, jobs.”
