Former first lady Nancy Reagan endorsed Mitt Romney Thursday night, saying her “Ronnie” would have liked Romney’s business background, according to the Associated Press.

Romney and his wife, Ann, visited Reagan at her home in Los Angeles on Thursday where she gave her endorsement.

In a statement issued Thursday night, Reagan praised Romney’s “leadership skills” and “strong principles,” and said she believes he has the experience that “our country so desperately needs.”
