Of course, because Pelosi wouldn’t dare criticize a Republican president who pissed away hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars trying to play investment banker.
Via The Hill:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Republicans are exposing themselves as hypocrites by criticizing President Obama’s support for the failed solar firm Solyndra.
Republicans have focused on Solyndra, which went bankrupt after receiving a federal loan guarantee, to make the case that Obama has been “wasting” taxpayer money on green-energy programs.
But Pelosi said the Republican attacks on Solyndra are at odds with the party’s defense of Mitt Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital, a private-equity firm that took over companies and sometimes shut them down.
Republicans are “the ones who say they’re risk takers [But NOT with taxpayer money — ed.],” Pelosi said at a press conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, reported Wednesday by the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Now, all of a sudden, they’re saying, ‘Don’t take risks,'” she continued.
The comparison between Solyndra and Bain Capital is one that the White House has sought to squash this week.
Republican criticism over Solyndra is not new, but Romney’s campaign released an anti-Obama ad on Tuesday accusing the administration of “wasting” taxpayer money on the company.
“Obama is giving taxpayer money to big donors. And then watching them lose it,” the ad stated.
