(Politico) — Which singer inspired President Obama to croon part of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”earlier this year?

Apparently, it was U2’s Bono.

At a symposium on world hunger in D.C. on Friday, Obama gave props to Bono, who was in attendance, telling the crowd, “He was my inspiration for singing at the Apollo,” according to a pool report.

The president memorably broke out in song during a campaign event at Harlem’s Apollo Theater in January.
