
That’s odd, I don’t recall Reagan orchestrating a government takeover of the U.S. healthcare system that will cost $1.76 trillion over 10 years.
President Obama told Americans not to believe politicians who say that Democrats have “bloated government” since he took office, as he argued the government workforce needs to expand during a recession.
“After there was a recession under Ronald Reagan, government employment went way up,” Obama said in New York, noting that the government workforce had fallen under his administration. “It went up after the recession under the first George Bush and the second George Bush. So, each time there was a recession with a Republican president, we compensated by making sure government didn’t see a drastic [workforce] reduction.”
