Amazing, this guy is actually defending the GSA.

(The Hill) — Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.) shot back at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Tuesday, telling the senator that he doesn’t need to “get a life” because he already has one.

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee chairman has launched an investigation into the General Services Administration’s (GSA) culture of lavish spending that led the agency to bill the taxpayers $823,000 for a conference in Las Vegas.

Soon after Mica’s announcement earlier this month, Reid delivered a sharp blow, telling the lower chamber lawmaker to “get a life.” Some in the press have raised questions about how the GSA scandal will affect the business and reputation of Las Vegas, where the extravagant federal conference took place.

“First of all, Mica, who is doing this, should get a life and do what he’s supposed to do,” said Reid to a group of reporters in Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “It’s because of him that the transportation bill is a total failure.”

Reid was referring to the Senate’s recent passage of a transportation bill and the stalemated House version, which has been languishing in Mica’s committee.
