(CNSNews.com) — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that while she supports the investigation into the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin that is taking place in the justice system, “other options” should be considered “if that doesn’t seem to be working.”

“We all supported an investigation that is taking place,” Pelosi said at her Thursday news conference when asked if Congress should hold hearings on the case. “I think that’s an issue in the justice system, and if that doesn’t seem to be working then consider some other options, but I’m pleased that the investigation is going forward.”

Martin, a Florida teenager who was fatally shot by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman on Feb. 26, has become a rallying for activists who allege that the shooting was racially motivated.
