And who are we supposed to be, Mooch? Like a good liberal I’m sure you have all the answers.
(Courier Journal) — First Lady Michelle Obama told a standing-room-only crowd at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage in Louisville Thursday that their vote in the November election is less about them than about their children and grandchildren.
“Truly, the choice we make will determine nothing less than who we are as a country, but more important it will determine who we will be,” she said at the low-dollar presidential fundraising event for her husband, President Barack Obama, in Louisville’s West End.
More than 1,000 supporters packed into the old trolley barn on Muhammad Ali Boulevard to hear the first lady, who was making her first stop in Louisville since the eve of the 2008 Kentucky presidential primary election.
During her 29-minute speech, she defended her husband’s administration and urged a supportive crowd not to let his opponents turn back his initiatives.
U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, D-3rd District, introduced the first lady, recalling her 2008 trip to Louisville during which she visited the cancer ward at Kosair Children’s Hospital.
