Comrade Obama hardest hit.

(Politico) — A record number of Americans believe the United States’s public enemy number one is Iran, according to a new poll out Monday.

About three in ten Americans, or 32 percent, say Iran is the one country in the world they consider to be the U.S’s greatest enemy today, according to the Gallup poll. China comes in second on the list, with 23 percent naming it the greatest enemy. North Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq round out the top five with 10 percent, seven percent and five percent, respectively.

The 32 percent who say Iran is the U.S.’s biggest adversary marks the highest reading that Gallup has measured for the country. Last year, a quarter of Americans pegged Iran as the greatest enemy.

Iran crosses partisan lines, with all parties naming the country the top foe — 37 percent of Republicans, 30 percent of Democrats and 31 percent of independents told pollsters the country was the one they considered the nation’s greatest enemy today.
