President Obama heeded his own advice Tuesday to “go big” on Valentine’s Day, as he took first lady Michelle Obama to dinner at a top D.C.-area restaurant.

The first couple went to Vermilion in Alexandria, Va., which specializes in local, farm-grown American food.

Earlier in the day, Obama urged men not to forget the holiday. “I speak from experience here. It is important that you remember this,” he said. “And go big. That’s my advice.”
