(Politico) — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi isn’t happy about the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s move to stop funding Planned Parenthood.

“I know the Susan G. Komen Foundation to be a very effective organization, very professionally run, and for a good purpose,” Pelosi, a staunch abortion rights advocate, told reporters Thursday. “I think their collaboration with Planned Parenthood … was one that benefited women’s health, and I feel sad that this decision … is to the detriment of women’s health.”

The cancer charity decided earlier this week to end its grants to Planned Parenthood, citing a new policy against doling out money to organizations that are under government investigation. Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.) has launched a probe into whether Planned Parenthood used taxpayer funds to provide abortions.

Pelosi said Thursday that she had “no idea” whether the Komen Foundation’s decision was politically motivated. But she called on the charity to apply its new standard across the board.
