I think he meant “white devil” since we’re viewing everything through the prism of race these days.

WASHINGTON, DC — Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), U.S. House Democratic Assistant Leader was interviewed by Newsmakers on Sunday to discuss the Democratic agenda for the rest of the congressional term. During this interview Clyburn commented the controversial “food stamp President” comments made by speaker Gingrich.

“The fact remains… President Obama would never have to expand the food stamp program if only George W. Bush had expanded the workforce, instead he cut back on jobs to the tune of 2.1 million jobs in the 3 months running up to President Obama’s inauguration. So it’s up to President to leave those people on the streets or expand the food stamp program and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. In fact that is what our Christian faith teaches us to do. Take care of those less unfortunate.”
