I think McCain has been dethroned as the Senate RINO king.

(The Hill) — Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) ripped GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich in an op-ed Wednesday, accusing the former Speaker of “pandering to the right-wing extreme” with his call to rein in activist judges.

Earlier this month, Gingrich said that as president he would force judges to defend decisions he disagreed with at congressional hearings, and would instruct the Capitol Police to arrest judges that refused to comply.

He also said he would abolish courts he viewed as activist and ignore Supreme Court decisions he disagreed with.

Brown, who faces a difficult path to reelection in liberal Massachusetts, called Gingrich’s positions on the judiciary “disturbing” in an op-ed in the Boston Globe.

“Under Gingrich’s scheme . . . judges would be deciding cases while constantly looking over their shoulder at the possibility of retaliation from politicians,” Brown wrote.
