Via NY Post:

Two NYPD officers were shot in Brooklyn early Saturday in an exchange of gunfire with a man who led them on a car chase and rammed a police car head-on, according to sources.

One officer was struck in his vest and the other in the back a little before 3:30 a.m.

The 81st Precinct officers were rushed to Kings County Hospital, where one was in surgery. They are expected to survive, sources said.

The cops tried to conduct a car stop after observing the suspect with a firearm in the vehicle. He took off and led the officers on a chase, during which he fired from his car, sources said.

The suspect drove the wrong way on Lexington Avenue and collided head-on with a patrol car at Malcolm X Boulevard.

He jumped out of his car and opened fire on the pursuing officers, who returned fire and struck him multiple times, sources said.
