Music producer Yameen Allworld was on the train and took video of people trying to crawl out of the train. 8 to 9 cars apparently derailed just north of Philadelphia.

Update:

One train car looks twisted and bent in half on the video, looks very bad.

At least 50 people were hurt after an Amtrak train derailed in the Frankford section of Philadelphia Tuesday night, according to officials.

Officials say eight to ten cars derailed on the 2000 block of Wheatsheaf Lane. At least 50 people were injured though officials have not yet revealed their conditions. Officials say approximately 240 people in all were on board. The train was coming from New York and heading to Washington, DC, according to officials.

In a video posted on Instagram, passengers are heard telling other victims to crawl forward.

SEPTA regional rail service is suspended until further notice on the Chestnut Hill West and Trenton Regional Rail lines due to the accident.

Not sure why this reporter is referring to it as a ‘crime scene’, so assume nothing:

PHILADELPHIA — An Amtrak train headed to New York City derailed in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, mangling the front of it, killing at least five people and injuring several more. Some passengers climbed out of windows to get away.

Mayor Michael Nutter, who confirmed the deaths, said the scene was horrific.

“It is an absolute disastrous mess,” he said. “Never seen anything like this in my life.”

Train 188, a Northeast Regional, had left Washington, D.C. The front of the train was going into a turn when it shook.

An Associated Press manager, Paul Cheung, was on the train and said he was watching Netflix when “the train started to decelerate, like someone had slammed the brake.”

“Then suddenly you could see everything starting to shake,” he said. “You could see people’s stuff flying over me.”
