Tingles reportedly inconsolable.
President Obama returned to the White House shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday after playing a round of golf with GOP Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Bob Corker, as well as Democratic Sen. Mark Udall.
“This afternoon, the president, who has the highest handicap of the foursome, paired with up Sen. Udall, who has the lowest. Sens. Chambliss and Corker, aided by Chambliss’s hole-in-one on the 11th, won the match,” the White House said in a statement.
Aides said that despite the loss, the president “enjoyed the chance to spend some time on the golf course with the senators.”
“Most of the talk centered on the round of golf and not the latest round of legislative negotiations in Congress,” the White House said. “The president was pleased that the rain held off, despite the damp forecast.”
