It’s all about me, me, me!
WASHINGTON — First lady Michelle Obama traveled to Mississippi on Wednesday to highlight the state’s efforts to reduce the childhood obesity rate, which has fallen by 13 percent since 2005.
“Your schools did hard work, replaced their fryers with steamers — hallelujah — and started serving more fruits and vegetables and whole grains,” Obama told a crowd at Eastside/Northside Elementary School in Clinton, Miss., according to a pool report. “The results of these efforts speak for themselves.”
The first lady said she planned to continue her push for healthier children throughout the second term.
“Now is the time to truly double down,” she said.
