I can think of a few third world countries I wouldn’t mind shipping Tingles to.
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said during Tuesday’s Election Day coverage that America has begun to act “like a Third World country” with regards to early voting laws in swing states like Florida.
“You have people who are so highly partisan and yet they have the job of keeping elections honest and running honest elections. What’s going on in our country? We begin to act like a Third World country — and I mean no disrespect to Third World countries here — when we start having elections you can’t trust because they keep changing the game and the rule,” Matthews said during an interview with former-Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.
Matthews continued: “Shouldn’t we have a law where you can’t change any election law until maybe two or three cycles after you’re out of power? At least then they wouldn’t be changing the rules like they’re doing now in Florida with [former-Florida Secretary of State] Katherine Harris with [former-Florida Gov.] Jeb Bush back then. There was a lot of questions about the 2000 race. And here we are again.”
